Serving guidance

Mix one serving (25g) with 80ml–100ml of water or milk using a handheld milk frother for best results, or mix in a blender, or shake vigorously in a hand shaker for 30 seconds. Add the liquid first to prevent lumps. Use as needed or 1–2 times daily. If you’re using a blender, you may need to add more liquid. 25g is roughly equivalent to 2 of our scoops, 3 1⁄2 tbsp, 60ml, or 1⁄4 cup. For a precise measurement, use scales.

Tips for Measurement

25g is equivalent to approximately 60ml, which is equal to ¼ cup, 3.5 tablespoons, 2 scoops, or of course you can also weigh on a set of kitchen scales for the best accuracy. Many people only have half a serving (so around 12.5g or 30ml) as they don't need a lot of extra protein in their diet, so feel free to use less if this sounds like you.

Is this real coffee or just coffee flavouring?

This is made with 100% pure organic coffee powder - that’s real organic coffee that has been freshly brewed and then dried into a powder without the use of any additives at all.

How much caffeine does it contain?

The organic coffee used in our Real Coffee blend naturally contains a small amount of caffeine. Each 25g serving contains approximately 37mg of caffeine (view test certificate) - offering a gentle boost for your morning routine without being overwhelming.

Can I mix this with hot liquids like regular coffee?

When using in hot drinks, you'll need to first mix the whey protein separately with a little cold or lukewarm water or milk, then stir the mixture into hot (not boiling) liquid. Adding the powder directly to boiling liquid can cause lumps to form due to the proteins denaturing, so you could instead add the protein powder to cold milk or water, then heat in a saucepan while stirring constantly.

Does it taste like actual coffee?

Thank you for the question. We don't currently offer a decaf version. Our Real Coffee protein contains 37mg of caffeine per 25g serving - about 40% less than a regular cup of coffee (which typically has 90mg). This moderate caffeine level works well for most people managing their caffeine intake. :)

Question asked: Your scoop says it’s 30ml and on the back of the packet it’s saying one serving is 25g. Why then further on are you saying that ‘25g is roughly equivalent to 2 of our scoops’ ?? Thank you for the question. Our Real Coffee organic whey protein is generally considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, though we always recommend consulting your GP or midwife first. Each 25g serving contains 37mg of caffeine, which represents approximately 18% of the 200mg daily limit recommended by NHS guidelines for pregnant and breastfeeding women. While most of our range is suitable, please note that our Cacao & Maca blend should be avoided during this time as maca may have a stimulant effect. :-)

Thank you for the question. This isn't something we've had any reports of in the 12 years since we first launched our whey protein. There is some research suggesting whey protein may trigger or worsen acne in people who are already prone to it, though the studies are small and the evidence isn't conclusive. If you do notice a connection, it might be worth taking a break to see if it makes a difference for you :-)
