What lovely weather we’ve been having lately; here’s hoping the sun is here to stay! To get you all in a nice summery mood we’ve got a fabulous alcohol free, high protein Pina Colada smoothie recipe for you to try out. Turns out whey protein is an exceptional ingredient in Pina Colada as it lends an added luxurious creaminess to the drink. The bromelain in the pineapple is great for helping you digest the protein too, though whey protein is already a readily digested protein source anyway but every little helps :-)

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop (20g) Organic Whey Protein Powder
  • 200ml coconut milk (from a can)
  • 200ml water (for an even better taste choose coconut water)
  • 300g juicy and ripe pineapple
  • 1 large very ripe banana
  • 4 egg yolks (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp coconut shreds (optional)

Directions

  1. Blend everything together until smooth.
  2. Pour into two glasses. Keep the second glass in the fridge if you're not sharing
  3. Sit in a sunny spot and enjoy.
