Purity and accuracy: inside the process of our batch-tested whey protein powder

Every batch of our organic whey protein powder is carefully tested by a third-party laboratory to make sure it’s safe and pure, with accurate nutritional profiles you can trust. Find out why this matters to us and to our customers, and how our batch-tested whey protein is best for reaching your health goals.

What is batch testing?

Batch testing is a process where individual production batches are tested to make sure they meet standards for quality, safety, and nutritional accuracy.

The tests carried out will vary depending on what’s being tested, but for protein powders, this might include:

  • Calculating accurate nutritional values (such as protein, fat, or vitamins and minerals)
  • Testing for gluten contamination
  • Testing for the presence of heavy metals

Why is batch testing so important?

Ultimately, batch testing offers increased trust and confidence. There are lots of cases where it can be beneficial, such as:

  • For individuals who want to track their nutritional intake closely to help them reach their health goals.
  • For individuals who simply want the transparency and reassurance of third-party testing and certifications.

Buying a batch-tested whey protein powder gives you peace of mind that the product is safe, clean, and aligns with your nutritional and health goals.

Full nutritional testing isn’t a legal requirement for every batch of protein powder in the UK, though it does have to be carried out occasionally. We believe testing every batch shows a higher dedication to quality, accuracy, and the health and wellbeing of customers.

Batch-tested organic whey protein powder: our processes

Quality control

Every batch of protein powder needs testing for microbiological analysis, visual, smell, and taste testing, as well as protein content to certify that it’s safe for human consumption and has been produced as expected.

Our quality testing process checks that our protein powders are free from any harmful pathogens. We precisely measure protein content and perform sensory evaluations to make sure it's still the creamy, tasty whey protein powder you know and love.

Nutritional testing

In addition to the required testing for microbiological analysis and protein content, we go the extra step by submitting every batch of our whey protein powder for third-party nutritional lab tests, as well as tests to confirm there’s been no gluten contamination.

This gives us, and our customers, assurance that the nutritional values specified on the back of each packet are as accurate as possible. We make these test results available to you, downloadable at your leisure. If you can’t find your batch, simply contact us and we’ll happily share this information with you.

Additional testing

In the name of transparency, and ensuring our products are the very best they can be, we’ll often submit them for further testing for everything from vitamin and mineral content to heavy metal contamination.

We share all of these results so you can have every confidence in the products you buy from us – and we tend to perform rather well, if we do say so ourselves!

Informed sport testing

We recognise that professional athletes need additional vigilance over what’s in their health supplements, and therefore look for official certifications such as Informed Sport.

While we can say with absolute certainty that we do not add any banned substances to our organic whey protein powders, we have not yet been able to invest in the official testing to become a certified product.

The benefits of choosing batch-tested protein powder

Here’s why we make sure to go the extra step and test every batch of our organic whey protein powder, making the results readily available to our community:
