BPA test results are in: none detected!
Research published by the Clean Label Project in 2018 raised concerns over BPA levels in protein supplements. Their analysis of 134 protein powder products revealed BPA contamination in over half (55%) of samples tested, affecting both animal and plant-derived protein products.
What causes BPA contamination in protein supplements?
- Container contamination: Protein products can absorb BPA from their plastic packaging during storage periods.
- Production contamination: Industrial manufacturing techniques may introduce BPA during the powder creation process.
BPA Free Protein Powder
We've had our whey protein powders tested and I'm pleased to confirm there was no BPA detected! Here are the results:
Flavour Blend | Lab result |
---|---|
Pure Unflavoured | <0.005 mg/kg |
Madagascan Vanilla | <0.005 mg/kg |
Raw Cacao & Maca | <0.005 mg/kg |
Banana & Lucuma | <0.005 mg/kg |
0.005g/kg is the lowest testing limit the lab was able to test at, so what the results show means is there wasn't any BPA in our protein powder detected at this level. You can download the original test certificate for each flavour by clicking on the flavour name in the table above.
Further evidence our organic whey protein is one of the "cleanest" on the market :-)
