Our organic whey is carefully sourced from small organic farms in the UK and around Europe, where the cows are free to roam outdoors on open pastures, feeding on grass all year round. Even during the winter months they're still given full freedom to roam outdoors, weather permitting of course! Surely they must only be fed grain during the winter, right? Nope, even during winter they're fed grass and other organic plant material in the form of haylage...basically the same as what the cows graze on during the spring and summer, only in dried form. Year round the cows' grass based diet is supplemented with a small amount of organic grain to ensure the milk they produce contains healthy levels of protein.
Having gently filtered our organic whey to gently remove most of the fat and lactose, it would seem a shame to then add a load of unnecessary ingredients to such a pure and naturally tasty product. So we haven’t, and it’s not just flavourings and sweeteners you’ll be avoiding here. Many whey protein powders contain soy lecithin, a substance extracted from the soya bean that helps it mix more easily with water. The majority of people we’ve spoken with were happy for us to leave out this ingredient as our organic whey protein mixes very well in a blender without it. If it's a clean protein powder you're after, you've just found it!
We give 25p to Compassion In World Farming for every pack made, which goes towards helping improve the welfare of cows and other farm animals in the UK and around the world. Additionally, we have a tree planted for every pack to help compensate for the inevitable CO2 emmissions resulting from producing and then transporting our whey protein to the UK.
Every stage of the process is recorded, from field to pack, so we're able to keep track of exactly where our whey comes from. This is helped along by the rigorous organic procedures in place, ensuring each stage is thoroughly documented and therefore a lot easier to keep track of.
All our cheese makers use vegetarian rennet when making their organic cheeses, therefore every batch of organic whey is suitable for vegetarians. Why use animal-based rennet when there’s a perfectly good vegetarian option? There’s no reason to, it’s as simple as that really.
There's just one ingredient: Organic Whey Protein. That's it, no sweeteners flavourings, fillers or anything else whatsoever. It's as simple as that.
Each 20g serving of organic whey protein contains 15.4g of protein, 351mg calcium, only 0.7g of carbs and 1g of fat.
|Typical Values||Per 100g||Per 20g Serving|
|of which sugars||3.5g||0.7g|
|of which saturates||3.3g||0.65g|
|Calcium||1755mg||351mg (44% RI)|
|Phosphorus||873mg||175mg (25% RI)|
RI = Reference intake of an average adult (8400 kJ/2000 kcal)
|Amino Acid||Per 100 g||Per 20g Serving|
* Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs)
After much demand we've had our Organic Whey Protein tested for heavy metals and the findings are reassuringly low:
|Amino Acid||mg/kg (parts per million)|
These are the lowest detectable levels our lab (or indeed any lab we contacted) was able to test for. For example the Cadmium test result tells us that none was detected at the lowest testing level of 0.005 mg/kg. So therefore we know that there is less than 0.005 mg/kg. These results compare favourably with heavy metals testing carried out on other protein powders on the market, in fact we were unable to find results from any other protein powders that were more favourable than these, which is great news.
Goes will with equal scoop of organic fine ground oats and equal scoop of Horlicks with 300ml water for nutritious and heart-healthy breakfast. It's fast to make, and all the ingredients keep a long time, so you can buy in bulk and barely think about it again. Very efficient breakfast for people who leave the house early.
Perfect. I have been buying product for quite some time.

I have only just started using this item as I had some other similar product to finish. I have been using this as a protein drink mixed with bananas and almond milk. I am very pleased with this product so far.
Have been using this particular product for over a year. I feel its healthy as its manufactured locally and using natural ingredients.
Quick delivery and great organic product. I use it in my overnight oats every night and it makes them a really nice creamy texture without having an overpowering protein taste to it
