Why Our Whey

Organically reared cows roam free and graze in organic pastures producing high-quality, nutrient-rich milk. Come winter, they’re housed in spacious naturally lit barns and fed on dried grass supplemented with organic cereals.

In the hands of organic vegetarian cheese makers, the milk undergoes traditional fermentation, using friendly bacteria to partially ferment it. This separates it into solid curds and liquid whey, and the curds are then filtered and processed separately to create cheese.

Chilled and stored, it's delivered to the whey filtration plant. Here, the whey is refined, effectively separating lactose, fat and minerals from the resulting protein-rich whey.

It's then gently heated to 30°C, reducing excess liquid content and giving it a thicker consistency.

Our whey is then spray dried, turning it into fine droplets passing briefly through a chamber of hot air. This rapid dehydration process minimises heat exposure, ensuring the protein molecules stay intact, preserving the nutritional goodness and that signature creamy taste.

The whey protein powder is packed into heat sealed sacks, maintaining freshness and quality during transportation. It's then sent to a top-tier, organic-certified UK facility, ensuring unmatched safety and quality standards.
